Honduras is a Central American country bordered by the Caribbean sea on its northern coast and the Pacific Ocean in the south. Every year, beans are harvested between the months of November and April, and it is estimated that two million Hondurans (that's more than 20% of the country's population!) work to harvest beans from the 90 million plus coffee trees cultivated throughout the country. Due to its temperate and tropical climates, Honduras produces coffees which are typically medium bodied, with well balanced acidity and often described as fragrant with notes of vanilla or hazelnut. Colombia is known for producing some of the world's finest coffees. Colombia grows 100% Arabica beans, and their geography is perfectly suited to produce the high quality coffee that we have become used to. Much of Colombia's coffee is grown on small farms at high altitude where farm workers pick the best cherries by hand, rather than using mechanical strip pickers. Colombian coffee is usually described as a well balanced coffee, with traces of chocolate and nutty flavours, some fruit, medium acidity and medium body. 16 June is Youth Day, and to celebrate this Coffee Notes has partnered with IMBA. IMBA is a Film and Music Movement formed by Wandile Funani ka Mnqanqeni, a musician and songwriter originally from Medigen Village in Limpopo.
