Lockdown: Level 4 update (10 May 2020)

Firstly, thank you for the amazing support from our entire Coffee Notes community throughout the lockdown. Thanks to you, we been able to keep the wheels turning and continue doing what we love the most - continue roasting delicious coffee for you to enjoy.  

It's been more than a week since we've been in level 4. I hope you've been enjoying the time outside - isn't it amazing how we start to appreciate the little things we've always taken for granted? 

We want to let you know that here at Coffee Notes, we are still dispatching our coffee direct to you. We are however still not yet shipping any of our brewing accessories - we'll let you know as soon as they are available again so you can continue on you home brewing journey.

Stay safe, drink lots of coffee and we'll keep you updated.

 

Lockdown: Update on our shipping (26 March 2020)

We’re certified to continue supplying you with the best quality beans and ground coffee during this lockdown period. So while you’re at home under lockdown, allow us to keep you caffeinated. Our couriers will no longer offer the local same day service, so if you're in Gauteng, your package will be with you the next day. If you're elsewhere in SA, then you should receive within 2-5 days.

 

Lockdown: Message to the Coffee Notes Community (24 March 2020)

Greetings from Coffee Notes, and we hope you're enjoying your coffee while we all digest the President's announcement of last night. This is a difficult time for all of us.

As a food producer, we will continue shipping our delicious coffee. Our courier partner, The Courier Guy has informed us that they will continue delivering our products throughout the lockdown period, and reassured me of the measures they have implemented throughout their operation (read the communication direct from The Courier Guy here)

We have in fact already implemented lockdown protocols within our roastery, with the roasting and packaging areas being only accessible to authorised personnel for the past week. Our escalated hygiene and sanitising protocols will continue, ensuring higher sanitary standards than what you’ll find at your local grocery stores.

As an online-only business from the start, we have been set up to operate under these stringent lockdown conditions.  We have additionally made the decision to temporarily suspend any collection of products from our facility. As of today the customer collection option will no longer be available for selection on our website.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and align with advice from the relevant government authorities. We thank all our partners across the country for working with us to continue to meet the needs of our valued customers and protect our communities. 

So while you're stuck at home under lockdown for a bit, we’ve got your back with the highest quality coffee you can buy. We have plenty in stock and there is no need for panic buying.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and those impacted worldwide by the virus.

COVID-19 Message (15 March 2020)

To our Coffee Notes Community

We know that coffee is more than just a whim that we can skip - it's a morning ritual, a midday pick-me-up or an after dinner tradition, and most importantly it's a soul nourishing comfort drink you should enjoy especially in these trying times. So despite the increasing concern around COVID-19 (Coronavirus), you can still double up on your cuppa, and rest assured that we are committed to maintaining the high standards we have set for our products.

Here are some of the measures we have in place:

  • We have implemented enhanced sanitation protocols within our facility, in addition to our standard stringent protocols.
  • We are temporarily suspending all on site coffee sampling and demonstrations until further notice.
  • We have restricted access to our roasting and packaging areas. 
    • All our green beans are stored and roasted in a locked area that is only accessible by our roaster.
    • Roasted beans are packaged in a similarly locked area.
  • We will be cancelling our participation at any of our scheduled promotional events, regardless of the number of people involved in these gatherings. We will also no longer be moving any of our mobile equipment out to serve coffee at any off-site venue.
With these measures and more, we are making every effort to ensure your safety and ours to make sure that you can still get that loving comfort from your coffee ritual. We hope that you’ll join us in applying lavish caution as we collectively navigate uncharted territory
